Health Services Academy (HSA), Govt. of Pakistan in collaboration with Dynamic Medical Company (DMC) under aegis of the Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination (MoNHSRC) conducted a Medical Conference and Exhibition on Next generation Healthcare on 1st July 2022 at HSA, Islamabad. Ex-Surgeon General of Pak Army, Lt. Gen ® Asif Mumtaz Sukhera, Vice Chancellor, Health Services Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan, Advisor Health, Govt. of Pakistan, Dr. Ghazna Khalid, Ms. Naghmana Hashmi Ex Ambassador in China, gave their opening remarks, Ms. Naghmana Hashmi with her more than 10 years’ experience emphasizes on creating health care enabling environment between China and Pakistan . Subsequently, the conference sessions on different themes around genetics, were delivered by various speakers, Researchers, Doctors from South Korea , Singapore ,Norway, Finland, Germany, Turkey, China, and Pakistan. One of the major objectives of this conference was too aware the participants and afterwards the general public about hereditary or genetic disorders, their timely diagnosis and available treatments. Pakistan is enlisted among those countries having high alert of genetic disorders. Majorly the increased incidence and prevalence of the genetic disorders are associated with lack of pre-natal testing facilities in the country.
According to the remarks of the worthy Vice Chancellor Health Services Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan, “Medical Technology is a solution in an inefficient healthcare system of Pakistan”. According to Lt. Gen. ® Asif Mumtaz Sukhera, the healthcare system in Pakistan is based on preventive model only. He proposed to follow curative and preventive model to move forward. We need international collaborators for expanding this project of healthcare development through Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Genomics”. Professor Dr. Mubashir Hanif, Director ORIC, Health Services Academy enlightened the participants about genetic counseling which should be initiated at national level. Mr. Amer Hashmi , Chairman STZA advised VC Health Services Academy to get HSA registered as First MedTech Cluster in Pakistan through processing of its Licensing by STZA .
DMC Collaborating Partners , BGI Health (HK) Co., Ltd (BGI) Director Marketing Mr. Han and Ms. Christina , presented Clinical Portfolio and briefed about Clinical molecular diagnostic solutions and NGS services for research and healthcare , having Curiosity, Application of Knowledge, Working for the Betterment of Mankind.
Neusoft Medical Systems, China also participated in the conference. Mr. Dan, VP International Business for Neusoft gave a brief introduction about their 5-year project of national upgrading of Medical Diagnostic Equipment including AI, Academic and National Service Network, and subsequent manufacturing (Semi-knock Down) of high-tech AI based Medical Diagnostics Equipment (MDE) in Pakistan for local consumption and exports.
Mr. Ryan from Airdoc China presented a technological solution to the stigma of rising hereditary disorders. Dr. Jurgen Feuerstein from Netherlands, SPL Medical University Nijmegen suggested alternative remedies to treat cancer at an earlier stage. It was agreed during the panel discussion headed by Chairman STZA, that the rising burden of incidence of these inherited disorders can be decreased via pre-marital genetic testing and counseling in healthcare system in Pakistan through technological interventions. It is worth mentioning that DMC in institutional collaboration with Health Services Academy (HSA), MoNHSR&C and in partnership with China’s leading medical equipment manufacturers has planned to set up a Genetic Reference Laboratory and Research Centre for Genetic Disorders here in Islamabad at the premise of HSA.

Main Significant for this Conference was DMC in collaboration of its partners BGI , to be established Facilitation and Setting up Next Generation Genomics testing Facility, National Reference NGS Lab at HHS .
